Atmospheric Science
Collaborating with researchers around the world, our atmospheric scientists address weather, climate, and environmental issues. We focus on discovery of new knowledge, the preparation of future leaders in atmospheric science, and the development of new observational, modeling, and analysis techniques
Biomedical Engineering
The School of Biomedical Engineering has three focus areas: biomechanics and biomaterials; molecular, cellular, and tissue engineering; and medical diagnostics, devices, and imaging. SBME combines CSU's strengths in veterinary medicine, engineering, and the sciences to provide an interdisciplinary focus.
Chemical & Biological Engineering
Chemical and biological engineering’s research areas are broken into five main categories: polymer Science, biological Engineering, mathematical modeling, environmental engineering, and transport phenomena.
Civil & Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a rich and diverse program of coursework and research opportunities, from "wet" areas like hydrology and stream restoration to "dry" structural and geotechnical engineering.
Electrical & Computer Engineering
Led by dynamic faculty who are internationally recognized in their disciplines, the department's research spans these core areas: biomedical engineering, communications and signal processing; computer engineering; controls and robotics; electromagnetics and remote sensing; lasers, optics, and applications; and systems engineering.

Mechanical Engineering
Faculty work with students to create and share new knowledge in research areas including advanced materials and plasmas, biomedical engineering, energy and environment, motorsport engineering, and systems engineering.
